Giving Back

Experiencing the value and necessity of volunteers is something that as a teacher, Susan can attest to first-hand . Giving back to the community took on new relevance as she embarked on her journey as an entrepreneur. Her business has introduced Susan to another world of people, wonderful people, both clients and acquaintances who have enriched her life in numerous ways.

The decision to give back was largely in response to these people. “So many people offered me assistance since the very start of my new career that a feeling of gratitude overwhelms me. Giving,” she says, “just feels good. It’s an investment in me. I like how it feels.”

And it reflects what she really believes: It takes a village to raise a child. “I love the idea of working together towards a common goal; none of us has achieved anything totally on our own. For me, it’s important to remember that every day.
